Man Dies In Co Laois Road Crash

Gardaí in Co Laois have reported the death of a 47-year-old following a road crash on the M7 Dublin-Limerick road.

The crash happened near Portlaoise shortly before 10pm on Thursday night.

According to gardaí, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was reopened on Friday morning following a technical examination.

Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.

A 38-year-old man has died in hospital following a road crash in Sligo. The crash happened on Pearse Road around 8am this morning. The man was driving a truck, which left the road and crashed into a wall. It is understood that no other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Man Dies In Overnight Road Crash
A man has died when his car collided with a van on the Rathbeale road in Swords, Dublin, around 02.30am on Wednesday morning. The man in his 40s was a passenger in the van. He died at the scene. The driver of the van and a second passenger are being treated in hospital. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
