Man Critical After Dublin City Centre Attack
A 42-year-old man is said to be in a critical condition after suffering serious head injuries is a suspected assault in Dublin city centre on Wednesday night.
According to garda the victim was found on Montague Place, Dublin 2, at about 21:00 last night and was rushed to St James's Hospital.
It is believed that the man was attacked at some time between 18:50 and 20:30. Garda have appealed for witnesses or any one with any information to contact Peace St on 01 6669000 or on the garda confidential hotline 1800 666 111.

Pair Held After Cocaine Seizure
Two men have been arrested in Co Kildare after Gardaí seized an estimated €200,000 worth of cocaine. Gardaí stopped a car in Monasterevin last night, recovering around 3kg of drugs. A 40-year-old man from north Dublin and a 35-year-old from Monasterevin are being held for questioning at Naas Garda station.

A dedicated garda unit is needed to tackle a "dramatic" spike in gun crime, Fianna Fáil Spokesperson on Justice Niall Collins has said. Deputy Collins made the call as gardaí investigate three separate gun attacks in West Dublin in as many days.

Teen Arrested Following Firearm Seizure
A 19-year-old man has been arrested by gardaí following the seizure of a firearm in Tallaght, Dublin. He was arrested on the Jobstown Road at approximately 12.40am on Tuesday morning. Gardaí were alerted after a man was seen holding a weapon. The male was chased on foot and gardaí disarmed and arrested him.
