Man Dies In Road Crash In Co Sligo

A man has been killed in a road accident in County Sligo.

The victims' 4x4 vehicle veered off the road at Corballa and hit an embankment in the early hours of this morning.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Sligo General Hospital.

Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.

A post mortem examination will be carried out today on the body of a 60-year-old man who died in hospital after being assaulted in Sligo town. Cyril Moran was assaulted at his home at River Road in the Cartron Point area of Sligo Town on Thursday morning.

Man's Body Found In Sligo
An investigation has launched following the discovery of a man's body in Sligo town on Monday. The body was discovered by gardaí at about 13:00 at an apartment on Holborn Street. The man, believed to be in his late 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene. It remains preserved for a technical and forensic examination. The investigation is ongoing.

Northern Irish Man Dies In Co Sligo Crash
A man from Belfast has died in a car crash in County Sligo. The 69-year-old man was killed after the car he was driving hit a ditch in Castlegal, Cliffoney, at around 3pm on Monday. The man's car was the only vehicle involved in the crash. The body has been removed to Sligo University Hospital where a post mortem will take place.

Two Arrested Over Murder Of Martin Kivlehan
Two men have been arrested in connection with the murder of Martin Kivlehan. 59-year-old Mr Kivlehan was found with stab wounds at his apartment in Sligo on 03 August. Both men were both arrested in Sligo town and are currently being detained at Sligo Garda Station under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act 1939.

Pensioner Dies In Sligo Collision
A pensioner has died in a car crash in County Sligo. The collision, which involved a car and a van, occurred at Lufnadeffa, Ballysadare at around 12.20pm on Wednesday. The driver of the car, a female in her 80s and the van driver are being treated in hospital with serious injures. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
