Firearm And Knives Recovered In Arrest In Dundalk

Gardaí in Dundalk have recovered a firearm and six knives during a public disturbance at Barrack Street on Monday night.

Officers responded to a public order incident at about 19:00, arresting a man who had become violent and aggressive.

The firearm and "locking" knives were found in a bag he was carrying.

The man is being held at Dundalk Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939-’98.
