Four Injured In Apartment Fire

Four people, including a child, are receiving hospital treatment after being injured in a fire in Balbriggan, Co Dublin.

Emergency services were call at around 01:00 on Friday to an apartment at Landy's Court, Millstreet. It is understood that two adults and a child were in the apartment.

They are being treated for smoke inhalation at Beaumount and Temple Street hospitals.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.

A woman and four children have been injured in an apartment fire in Inchicore, Dublin on Monday night. A woman, aged in her 30s, and an 8-year-old boy are said to be a critical condition following a fire at an apartment block on Tyrone Place at approximately 11.15pm. Mountjoy Prison Cell Fire
A fire broke out in a cell at Dublin's Mountjoy Prison on Thursday night, according to reports. It is understood that a prisoner had set fire to a cell. However, it is believed that prison staff and fire crews were able to contain the fire quickly. No-one was injured in the incident.
