22,000 Cigarettes Seized In Limerick

Twenty two thousand illegal cigarettes, with an estimated worth of €10,300, have been seized by customs officers in Limerick.

The 'Septwolf' cigarettes were found on Monday in two steel containers when officers stopped and searched a vehicle at the Limerick-Cork border.

It is understood that two Chinese nationals have been questioned in connection with the haul.

A search was also carried out at a private residence in Limerick City.

The investigating is on-going.

Over 18,000 Cigarettes Seized In Dublin And Limerick
More than 18,000 cigarettes have been seized by Revenue officers in two separate operations in Limerick and Dublin. The smuggled cigarettes are understood to have originated in Bulgaria and Ukraine and were detected by Revenue Officers in Athlone and Portlaoise Mail Centres.

Cigarettes And Cash Seized In Limerick
Ten thousand cigarettes and almost €7,000 in cash have been seized by Revenue Officers during a planned vehicle search in Limerick. The 'M&J' cigarettes and cash were discovered when a car was stopped and searched by officers in Limerick city.
