Woman 'Traumatised' After Co. Laois Hijacking

Gardaí have launched an appeal following the hijacking at gunpoint of a car in County Laois last night.

The victim was a woman in her early thirties. Gardaí said she was uninjured, but has been left traumatised.

The incident began as the woman was sitting in a car outside a shop in Ballylinan at about 21:10, when the gunman approached.

The man threatened her with a shotgun before forcing her from the vehicle.

The car was then found burnt out some time later at Kildangan near Monasterevin in County Kildare.

Gardaí have appealed to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in either location to contact Portlaoise Garda Station on 057 8674100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.

Body Found In Search For Missing Woman
Gardaí investigating the disappearance of Pamela Kenny have confirmed they have found a body. Ms Kenny, 52, was last seen in Delwood, Castleknock, on Monday (2 March) at around 10.30am. An appeal was launched into her whereabouts. Gardaí have since confirmed the body is that of Ms Kenny.

Eight Arrested In Dundalk Murder Inquiry
Gardaí investigating the murder of Aidan Myers in Dundalk last year have arrested eight people. Six men and two women were arrested this morning. It is understood that four men, aged 19 and 26, are being questioned in relation to Mr Myers' murder, while two men and two women are being questioned on suspicion of withholding information.

Man Flees With Mother's Body
A man has fled from his home in Kerry with the body of his dead mother. According to reports, the 91-year-old woman, who is originally from the south of England but had been living with her son in the Kenmare area, died on holiday in Malta in September.

Specially Adapted Car Stolen In Lucan Recovered
A specially adapted car stolen in Lucan, Dublin, on Monday 25 April, has been recovered. Gardaí issued an appeal for information on Tuesday after the black Audi A6 was stolen from the owners driveway. It is understood no damage was caused the car when garda recovered it. Garda thanked the public for their help.
