Warning Issued About Faulty Safety Beacons

Fishermen have been warned about potentially defective emergency positional beacons.

It is understood that 19 faults have been recorded for the Emergency Position Indication Radio Beacons (EPIRBs).

The warning issued to fishermen includes six models manufactured between 2005 and 2010.

The models, thought to be the cause of the faults, include; GME MT400, GME MT401, GME MT406G, GME MT401FF, GME MT403/G and GME MT 403FF/FG

Owners of any GME EPIRB devices are advised to carry out immediate testing.

The Department of Transport issued to warning on behave of the coastguard.

HSE Issue Warning After Mumps Cases Increase
