Investigation Launched Into Taxi Driver Shooting

An investigation has been launched into a shooting incident in Dublin in which a taxi driver was injured.

According to gardaí a taxi driver was shot in the legs while on Dunsoghly Drive in Finglas at around 20.30.

Gardaí are investigating reports that the taxi driver picked up a man in town and drove him to Finglas, but was shot after a row ensued.

The victim is being treated at Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

Gardaí have appealed for information.

Gardaí have renewed an appeal for information on the murder of taxi driver Martin Mulligan. Mr Mulligan (53) was stabbed to death on 28 September following an altercation in Dundalk in Co Louth. It is believed the altercation began over an unpaid taxi fare.

Five Years For Woman Who Robbed Taxi With Sringe
A woman has been sentenced to five years in jail for robbing a taxi driver while threatening him with a syringe. The robbery occurred after the driver turned down her sexual advances. 30-year-old Mary Ward had propositioned the taxi driver, quoting him prices for various sexual acts. However when he declined it quickly became a robbery.

Appeal Over Foley Street Attack
Gardaí at Store Street investigating an assault that occurred on Foley Street, Dublin during May are appealing to the public for assistance. In particular they are appealing for two taxi drivers working in the area on the night of on Sunday 23 May to come forward.
