Aer Lingus Crew Accept LRC Proposal

Aer Lingus cabin crew have voted to accept the airlines proposals for lower crewing levels on new transatlantic route out of Shannon.

Crews had initially refused to fly three new routes, on which the airline had planned to use smaller planes with fewer cabin crew, threatening strike action when the airline announced plans to close its base in Shannon and outsource the jobs.

Following talks held last week at the Labour Relations Commission 83% of the Shannon-based cabin crew voted to accepted new proposals, which will see the cabin crew base retained, and the work on the new routes carried out by direct Aer Lingus employees.
