Arklow Town One-Way Traffic System Trial Underway

A three month trial of a new one-way traffic system is underway in Arklow, in an effort to rejuvenate the town's shopping areas.

It is understood that the move has been introduced by Arklow town council following a number of business closures. According to reports the Bridgewater Shopping Centre at North Quay attracts the majority of shoppers, with Dunnes closing its town centre store to move to the shopping area.

Arklow town council also moved to the centre.

It is hoped that the introduction of the one-way traffic system will encourage pedestrian shoppers back into the town centre.
