O'Neill And Keane Set For Ireland Job

Martin O'Neill and Roy Keane are said to be in 'advanced talks' to become the new management team behind Irish soccer.

Mr O'Neill, 61, who won 64 caps for Northern Ireland during his career as a player, has not been involved in football since being sacked by English team Sunderland in March after failing to achieve a win in eight matches.

Ex-Republic midfielder Keane, 42, was dismissed as manager of Ipswich in January 2011 after a poor start to the season.

The talks follow the dismissal of Giovanni Trapattoni as Ireland manager in September after the team failed to qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The team's next fixtures are friendlies against Latvia on 15 November and Poland four days later.
