Eircom Launch New TV Service

Eircom are set to become the first company in Ireland to offer customers a so-called 'quadplay' service, with announcement of its new TV service, joining its landline, mobile and broadband services.

From tomorrow, its new television service, eVision, will be available in the 25 counties that already carry the firms fibre optic broadband.

A basic package of 34 channels, including the main Irish channels, will be priced at €10 a month, with additional services available as bolt ons.

A basic quadplay bundle of fibre optic broadband, 4G mobile, eVision and a landline will be priced at €70 a month.

The roll-out of the television service follows a trial scheme run in 600 homes across the State.

It is understood that UPC will follow suit and also offer quadplay, when it adds a mobile service to its broadband, TV and landline package.
