Man Gets 15 Years For Rape Of Eight Year Old Boy

A 45-year-old Wexford man has been jailed for 15 years after pleading guilty to charges of sexual assault, rape and oral rape of an 8-year-old boy.

According to reports the accused is the brother of the victim's father's partner and that abuse took place between October 2007 and September 2012.

At an earlier court date the man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was registered as a sex offender. The last three years of his sentence were suspended and he was ordered to undergo 18 months post-release supervision.

The accused was arrested in October 2012 and initially denied the abuse before making a full admission and cooperating with the investigation.

A 16-year-old boy has been sentenced to six years’ detention with the final three years suspended for the rape of a 15-year-old girl at a house party in Dublin last year. Tipperary Man Gets Three Years For Sexual Assault of 15-Year-Old
A Tipperary man, found guilty of sexually assaulting the teenage daughter of a neighbour, has been sentenced to three years in jail, with the last year suspended. The 49-year-old man, from Tipperary, who cannot be named to protect the identity of his victim, denied charges of rape and sexual assault at his home on February 9, 2009.

Man On Run For Six Years Is Remanded
A man has been remanded in custody after being on the run for six years after pleading guilty to rape. Christian Moran, originally from Tullow in County Carlow, had admitted to the rape of a 27-year-old woman in 1999. Mr Moran absconded in July 2001 while awaiting sentencing on bail and he was detained last month by the authorities in the US.
