Gardaí Renewed Appeal In John Maguire Murder Investigation

Gardaí have renewed their appeal for information over the death of former publican John Maguire, after eliminating a 'mystery call' from their investigation.

Mr Maguire was found dead slumped behind his front door. He had suffered multiple stab wounds.

Gardaí had managed to trace a man who had caller to Mr Maguire's house about two hours before he died and have subsequently eliminated him from their investigation.

Gardaí have appealed for any one who may have called to Mr Maguire's house, was in the area or saw anything suspicious at around 14:30 on Monday afternoon to contact them

They have also appealed to taxi drivers who may have collected a fare in the Ormond Square area of Dublin's north inner city during the same time-frame to contact the incident room at the Bridewell garda station, phone 01 6668200, or phone the confidential line, 1800 666111.

Investigation Launched Into Fatal Stabbing At Dublin Home
An investigation has been launched into the the fatal stabbing of a man in Dublin on Monday afternoon. The victim, understood to be John Maguire (51), was found with fatal stab wounds to his back and neck. He was attacked at his home in Ormond Square, according to Gardaí.

Man Arrested In Michael Devoy Murder Investigation
Gardaí investigating the murder of Michael Devoy in January this year have arrested a man in his early 20s. A routine garda patrol in the Bohernabreena area of Tallaght, found the body of Mr Devoy on 18 January. He had been shot dead. Garda have confirmed they have arrested a man in his early 20s in connection with the murder.

Four Girls In Hospital After Aerosol Explosion
Garda are investigating the circumstances surrounding four girls ending up in hospital after an aerosol exploded in a house in Drogheda on Sunday. The girls are being treated in hospital, two in Crumlin's children's hospital and two in Tallaght, following the incident. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Investigation Launched Into Galway Body Find
Gardaí have launched an investigation following the discovery of a man's body in an apartment in Galway City. It is understood that the man's body was found by his flatmate on Monday. According to reports, the dead man is believed to be a 23-year-old from Tullamore in Co Offaly who was studying in Galway City.

New Searches Underway In Drogheda In Mulready-Woods Investigation
Gardaí investigating the murder of Keane Mulready-Woods(17) are carrying out further searches in Drogheda. According to reports, a search is underway at Oldbridge, with the surrounding area sealed and the road closed. It follows searches carried out earlier this week in the Rathmullen Park area of the town.
