Man Arrested Following Cash-In-Transit Robbery

A man has been arrested following a cash-in-transit robbery that occurred on the Old Bawn Road, Tallaght at approximately 1pm yesterday afternoon (Monday 9 September).

Three males, one armed with a shotgun, and another armed with a weapon, confronted a security worker as he was making a cash collection. A third man remained in the car. They escaped with a sum of money in a silver Avensis which went in the direction of Allenton Estate. The car was later recovered in Allenton. There were no injuries or shots discharged.

In a follow up operation last night, Gardai searched a house and arrested one man aged in his early 20s. He is currently being detained at Tallaght Garda Station under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

Man Arrested Following Drugs Find
Drugs with an estimated street value of €170,000 have been seized by gardai during a raid on a property in west Dublin. Cocaine and cannabis was found during the raid at a house in Balgaddy. A gun and ammunition were also discovered. A 37-year=old has been arrested and is being detained at Ronanstown Garda Station.

Man Arrested Following Death Of A Man In Phoenix Park
A second man has been arrested in Dublin in connection with the murder of a man in the Phoenix Park on Friday. The man is currently being held at Finglas Garda Station. The victim is believed to have been attacked and set alight in a sleeping bag.

Man Dies Following Galway Road Collision
A man has died following a road collision in Galway. The incident happened at Glenascaul in Oranmore around 1:30pm on Thursday. It is understood that the car the man was travelling in collided with a tractor.

Man Seriously Injured In Dublin Crash
A man has been seriously injured following a crash in Dublin. The collision, which involved a cyclist and a car, occurred at around 5.30pm on the N81/Tallaght Bypass on Sunday. The man was taken to hospital and is believed to be in a serious condition. One man has been arrested.

Man Arrested Following Armed Robbery In Arklow
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses following an armed robbery of a service station on the Dublin Road, Arklow, on Tuesday. A lone masked man, entered the premises armed with what is believed to be a knife; he threatened staff and demanded cash.
