Investigation Underway After Baby's Body Is Discovered
An investigation is underway following the discovery of the body of a baby at a house in Cork city on Monday afternoon.
Gardaí have said that they do not yet know the circumstances surrounding the death of the baby and that the matter was being treated with "great sensitivity".
A post-mortem examination of the body is underway at Cork University Hospital, according to garda.
It is understood that the mother of the baby is also receiving postnatal treatment.

Body Of Baby Found In Bin
The body of a newborn baby has been found in a bin in Co Cork. The discovery was made at a property in the city on Thursday after the baby's mother presented herself to gardaí, it has been reported. The body was taken to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem will be carried out.

Body Found In Co Donegal
Gardai have launched an investigation after a body was discovered in Bundoran, Co Donegal, this morning (25 April). The body, believed to be a man aged in his 60's or 70's, was found near the shore in the West End of the town. It is believed the body remains at the scene.

Man And Woman Arrested In Connection With Child's Death Last Year
Two people have been arrested in connection with the death of a 10-week-old baby girl in Co Longford in June last year. The child, named as Doriana Kluska, from Cloondara in Longford, died in Temple Street Hospital on 04 June 2017. A man, aged in his 30s, was arrested in Naas. At the same time a woman, aged in her 20s, was arrested in Dublin.

"Significant quantities" of human remains have been discovered in a large underground structure at the former mother-and-baby home in Tuam, Co Galway. Surveys of the site were carried out the Mother And Baby Homes Commission of Investigation in October 2015, identifying two underground anomalies worthy of further investigation.

Missing Mother And Daughter Found 'Safe And Well'
A mother missing with her one-week-old baby daughter has been found "safe and well", garda have reported. Garda had issued appeals for help in tracing 23-year-old Paige Holland and her daughter, Nevaeh Goodier/Tighe, after they had been reported missing from their home in Co Tipperary.
