Anti-Abortion Protesters Disrupt Speech And Picket Taoiseach's Home

Anti-abortion protesters gathered outside the private home of Taoiseach Enda Kenny on Sunday night, gardaí have confirmed.

A number of the protesters wore skeleton masks and white shawls.

It is understood that Kenny wasn't home at the time of the protest, the first to occur at his Castlebar home. His wife Fionnuala and eldest son Ferdia were at home at the time of the protest.

Meanwhile, around 200 anti-abortion protesters also picketed Mr Kenny in Co Longford yesterday as he unveiled a statue of Gen Seán Mac Eoin.

It has been reported that the protesters chanted "keep your promise" throughout the Taoiseach's 10-minute speech.
