Women Killed In Westport Road Crash
A 24-year-old female passenger has died when the car she was in was involved in a two-car collision in Westport, Co Mayo.
The collision, between a car, carrying the female passenger, and a truck happened on the N5, Westport to Castlebar Road at 09:00 on Friday morning.
The driver of the car was treated at Mayo General Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the truck was uninjured.
A forensic examination of the site took place, with diversion in place while the road was closed.
Westport garda have appeal for any witnesses to the collison to contact them on 098 50230, tha Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.

Gardaí on Mallow have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road traffic accident in Kanturk, Co Cork, on Thursday morning. The collision occurred at Glen South, Naan, Kanturk at approximately 11.30am on the Kanturk/Banty to Cork Road and involved a car and a rigid truck. The 78-year-old female driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

A male in his early 20s, who was a passenger in one of the vehicles was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene.
