Former Sports Coach Arrested In Waterford After Abuse Allegations

A former sports coach has been arrested by garda in Waterford in connection with allegations of sexual abuse carried out in the 1970s and 1980s.

According to the Irish Times, the man in his 60s was arrested at his home around 08:00 on Friday morning.

He is being held at Waterford Garda Station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Customs Seize 120,000 Illegal Cigarettes
Cigarettes with an estimated retail value of €57,000 have been seized by customs officers at Cork Airport. Some 120,000 Marlboro cigarettes were discovered in 12 suitcases that had arrived on a flight from Wroclaw, Poland.
