Marie Fleming Loses Supreme Court Appeal

A 59-year-old woman, who has Multiple Sclerosis, has lost her Supreme Court challenge to the ban on assisted suicide.

Marie Fleming did not attend the court to hear the decision that was made.

Ms Fleming wanted her partner, Tom Curran, to help her die at home without him being put behind bars.

She took the legal challenge and argued the ban on assisted suicide breached her Constitutional rights.

The court also rejected her case that the the new discriminates against her because her physical ability stops her being able to end her own life.
