Diamond Innovations To Close Its Dublin Plant

79 jobs are to be lost at Diamond Innovations as the firm is to close its plant in Dublin.

The firm, which is a subsidiary of Sandvik AB which produces tools for the mining and construction industries, is to end production at the plant in Clonshaugh business park by the end of September.

Management told staff that its is moving its production from Dublin to its headquarters in Ohio.

Diamond Innovations has been in operation in Ireland since 1981.

Dublin Water Restrictions To Continue Until 4 Nov
Water restrictions imposed in Dublin last night are expected to continue until Monday 4 November. The restrictions, which cause low pressure and loss of supply, will be in place each evening from 8pm until 7am. It is understood that the restrictions are the result of problems at Dublin's biggest water treatment plant, Ballymore Eustace.

US Pharmaceutical Firm To Create New Jobs In Dublin
Up to 400 new jobs are to be created in Dublin by US-based pharmaceutical company Bristol-Myers Squibb. The firm has announced it is to invest €720m into a new plant in the city which will see the creation of between 350 and 400 new, highly skilled, jobs.

Emergency Services Tackle Fire At Bray Recycling Plant
Emergency services are tackling a large fire at a waste recycling plant in Bray, County Dublin, this morning, Monday 27 March. The fire in the Fassaroe area, is believed to have started in a stack of timber pallets at the recycling plant and has produced large plumes of thick smoke. It is understood the smoke is visible for several miles.
