Woman Dies In Waterford Road Collision

A woman has died following a road collision in Co Waterford.

The accident occurred on the N25 at Ballyduff West on the main Waterford-Dungarven Road at around 11.30pm last night.

The woman, 45, had been a passenger in a car that crashed with a van.

The driver of the car was taken to hospital and the van driver was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

A man in his 40s was arrested and is being detained at Waterford Garda Station.

The road remains closed.

Garda are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

An elderly woman who was hit by a car in Dublin has died in hospital. The incident occurred on the Navan Road at around 8.15am on Sunday, 04 September. Man Dies In Overnight Road Crash
A man has died when his car collided with a van on the Rathbeale road in Swords, Dublin, around 02.30am on Wednesday morning. The man in his 40s was a passenger in the van. He died at the scene. The driver of the van and a second passenger are being treated in hospital. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Shots Fired At House In Limerick City
Gardaí in Limerick have arrested two men in connection with a shooting in the city. It is understood that shots were fired at a house in the New Road area at about 20:00 on Tuesday night. A 22-year-old woman and two teenage boys who were in the house at the time, escaped without injury.
