Limerick Man Arrested In 11 Year Old Murder Case
A man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with the murder of security man Brian Fitzgerald in Limerick over ten years ago.
Garda arrested the man this morning in Limerick city and he is being detained in Henry Street Garda Station.
Mr Fitzgerald, a father of two boys, was head of security at the former Docs nightclub in Limerick.
He was shot a number of times outside his house at Brookhaven Walk, Mill Road, Corbally, on 29 November 2002, as he returned from work. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two men have been convicted in relation to the shooting.

Man Dies In Limerick Collision
A man has died in a crash in Co Limerick. The car veered off the road and hit a ditch at Dromsallagh at around 4.15am on Sunday, 05 June. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. A second man is currently being treated for his injuries at the University Hospital Limerick. The road has been re-opened.

The Irish President, Mary McAleese, is formally launching proposals for the demolition of every house in the troubled Limerick estate of Moyross. The move is part of a 'vision document' put forward by the Northside Regeneration agency, and will make way for a series of plans to regenerate the area.

Body Confirmed As Missing Galway Man
Gardaí have confirmed they have found the body of missing Galway man Adrian Folan. Mr Folan had been missing since last Thursday, when he was last seen in Athlone. Gardaí say that a body found in a disused quarry near the village of Liscannor in north Clare is that of Mr Folan, and that the death is being treated as suspicious.

Limerick Man Dies After Assault In Home
A 48-year-old man has died as a result of serious injuries he received in his own home after a serious assault. Gardaí have launched a murder investigation into the attack during which, Limerick man Joe O'Donnell, 48, of Hyde Road, suffered serious head wounds in the early hours of Friday morning.
