Woman Dies After Being Hit By HGV Lorry

An 80-year-old woman has died in Aughadrina, Castlebar, after being hit by a heavy goods vehicle on Wednesday afternoon.

The as yet unidentified woman was taken to Mayo General Hospital with serious injuries, but was pronounced dead a short time later.

Garda have now launched an investigation to determined the cause of the incident and are appealing for anyone with information to contact Castlebar Garda Station.

Woman Dies After Being Hit By Car In Dublin
An elderly woman who was hit by a car in Dublin has died in hospital. The incident occurred on the Navan Road at around 8.15am on Sunday, 04 September. The driver of the car was arrested and taken to Finglas Garda Station. He has been released and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Witnesses Sought To Fatal Collision In Dublin
Gardaí have issued an appeal for information regarding a fatal road traffic collision in Dublin over the weekend. A woman, aged in her 70s, died when the car she was driving crashed on Windgate Road, Howth at about 3.20pm on Sunday afternoon.

Body Of A Woman Discovered At House In Co Donegal
An investigation has been launched into the death of a woman in Killygordon, Co Donegal. The body of a woman, aged in her 20s, was discovered at a house in the town in the early hours of this morning, Friday, 04 January. A post-mortem is due to be carried out which will determine the course of the investigation, garda have said.

Four Arrested In Connection With Theft Of Mobile Phones
Four people have been arrested in connection with the theft of mobile phones in Co Louth. Three men and one woman have been detained after a number of suspected stolen mobile phones were discover during searches carried out in Tallaght, Clondalkin and Portarlington. The phones are believed to have been stolen from mobile phone stores nationwide.
