Explosive Device Made Safe In South Dublin

A viable explosive device, discovered in south Dublin overnight, has been made safe by the Army.

The improvised device was found beside a vehicle parked outside a home in Carrigwood in Firhouse in the early hours of Monday morning.

Gardaí cordoned off the area and requested the assistance of the Defence Forces, and local residents were moved to a safe location.

A bomb disposal team carried out a controlled explosion and the remains of the device were handed over to gardaí to assist with their investigation.

The scene was declared safe at about 3am.

Explosive Device Made Safe In Dublin
An explosive device was made safe by the Army early on Tuesday morning in Dublin. A bomb disposal team arrived at Cushlawn Park, Tallaght, at 2.35am to deal with the object outside a private home. Local people were evacuated, and the scene was declared safe at 3.20am.

In just the latest such incident, gardaí were alerted to the device in Ballyfermot at around 8.30am on Monday. The Defence Forces' bomb disposal team were called to the scene at Blackditch Road.

A bomb has been defused in the Ballfermot area of Dublin in the early hours of this morning. Army bomb disposal experts were called to the scene and made safe what is described as a "viable improvised explosive device". Viable Explosive Device Made Safe In Dublin
A viable improvised explosive device (IED) has been made safe in Dublin, it has been confirmed. It is understood the device was discovered in the garden of a private residence on Thursday evening by the homeowner. A bomb disposal team attended the scene in Ronanstown, Co Dublin. Some homes were evacuated, while road closures were also put in place.

Bomb Warning Phoned In To Dublin Airport
A bomb scare has been reported at Dublin Airport. Part of the airport was evacuated on Thursday morning after Air Traffic Control received a warning that an explosive device had been left at Pier E. It has been reported that a man with a Northern accent delivered the warning at around 01:30 on Thursday morning.
