25-Year-Old Shot On Doorstep
A 25-year-old man has been injured in a shooting in the early hours of Tuesday morning, when he answered a call to his front door.
The man was hit in his knee and stomach in the attack at his home on the Burrin Road, Carlow.
Gardaí have said the incident occurred at 2.25am on Tuesday but that his injuries are not life threatening. He is being treated at St Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny.
Garda have appealed for witness, or anyone with information relating to the case, to contact Carlow Station at (059) 913 6620 or any other station.

Appeal For Help In Tracing Carlow Man
Gardaí are appealing for help in establishing the whereabouts of a man who has been missing from Carlow since late last month. Rory Gahan was last seen on Tullow Street in Carlow town on Thursday 27 December. He's described as being 5'8" in height and of slim build, with short brown hair and blue eyes.

Road Death Toll Growing
Gardaí in Borris, Co Carlow are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred at Ballyine, Co Carlow at 12.45am this morning. A man of 68 was injured when the car in which he was the sole occupant collided with a wall. He was brought to St Luke's Hospital in Kilkenny where he was subsequently pronounced dead.

Fourth Man Arrested In David Byrne Murder Investigation
A fourth man has been arrested in connection with the murder of David Byrne. Mr Byrne was shot dead during a boxing weigh-in event at the Regency Hotel in Dublin on 05 February, 2016 A man, aged in his 50s, was arrested on Wednesday. He is being detained at Raheny Garda Station under Section 50 of The Criminal Justice Act 2007.

A 62-year-old man died when the car he was a passenger in left the road on the M50 at about 12:45am between Junction 10 Ballymount and Junction 11 Tallaght. The 60-year-old female driver is in a critical condition in Tallaght Hospital.
