Man Charged With Mary Ryan Murder

44-year-old Waldemar Solowiow appeard before Dublin District Court charged with the murder of Mary Ryan in the city centre at the weekend.

Ms Ryan, 37, who was originally from Drogheda in Co Louth, was found with serious injuries at her home on Sherrard Street in the north inner city on Saturday.

She died later at the Mater Hospital from her injuries.

Solowiow, who is from Poland, was brought before the District Court charged with her murder between 18 and 19 May.

Detective Garda Ian Brunton gave evidence that he arrested the accused man yesterday at Mountjoy Garda Station.

He said Mr Solowiow said "nothing" in response to the charge.

He was granted legal aid and was remanded in custody to be brought before Clover Hill District Court in a week.

Man Due In Court Over Clonmel Death
A 28-year-old man is due to appear before a special sitting of Clonmel District Court, charged in connection with the death of a 45-year-old man whose body was found in a house in the town at the weekend.
