Two Arrested In Connection To Spate Of Burglaries In Mayo

Two 19-year-old men have been arrested on suspicion of a number of burglaries over the last few weeks in the Mayo area.

The men were arrested in the vicinity of Knockmore village, Mayo, on Sunday morning. Both males were detained under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

The men have been charged in connection to the spate of burlaries and are due to appear in Castlebar District Court today.

Garda in Mayo have praised the efforts of the local community for the help and information provided to officers in the lead up to the arrests.

Woman Dies After Mayo Mountain Fall
A woman who fell while climbing in the Mweelrea mountains in Co Mayo yesterday evening has died. Search teams in the Mweelrea Mountains in Co Mayo were called to the scene where the woman, who is in her 30s, fell on Ben Bury peak at around 6.30pm yesterday evening.

Man Arrested In Connection With Mayo Stabbing
A man has been arrested in connection with the stabbing of a man in County Mayo in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Gardaí investigating the fatal stabbing which occurred in the Kiltimagh area arrested a man in connection with the investigation yesterday evening.

Men Arrested Over Santry Cannabis Seizure
Cannabis worth an estimated €150,000 has been seized from a home in Larchill, Santry in Dublin, on Saturday. Gardaí arrested four men in connection with the find. They are due to appear in court on Monday.
