Jail Time For Brothers In Cash-In-Transit Conspiracy

Two brothers who admitted conspiracy to steal from a cash-in-transit van will face jail time, the presiding judge has said.

39-year-old Alan Bradley and his 33-year-old brother Wayne were part of a six-man gang arrested at Tesco's in Celbridge in Co Kildare in November 2007.

The Chubb van they were planning to rob was carrying €880,000 and was there to refill an ATM machine.

Judge Tony Hunt said the men were within 10 minutes of committing the robbery when gardai moved in and arrested the six men.

Remanding both men in custody the judge said he wanted time to consider his verdict.

He added that there would be a custodial sentence and there was no way it would be suspended when he hands it down on the 16 April.
