Louis Walsh Issues Statement Over Alleged Assault

Louis Walsh has released a statement in the wake of indecent assault accusations.

A spokesperson for the X Factor judge said: “Louis would like to thank everyone for the overwhelming number of messages of support from around the world that he has received over the last 48 hours.

“He has been co-operating fully with the Garda investigating the allegation.

“Louis is fully confident that this purported allegation will be resolved quickly and has taken full legal advice to vindicate his name and reputation following the outrageous publication of what are totally false inferences about him.”

Louis Walsh added: “It did not happen so therefore there is no case to answer and I am extremely angry that someone is trying to tarnish my name and reputation.

“My phone has not stopped ringing with messages of support from around the world which means so much to me.'

“I am hoping that this matter will be resolved as quickly as possible.”

Unemployed dance teacher Leonard Watters, who falsely accused music manager Louis Walsh of groping him in a nightclub, has lost an appeal against his six month prison sentence. Mr Watters pleaded guilty to making two false reports to gardaí that the pop music mogul sexually assaulted him in Dublin nightspot Krystle in April 2011.

Walsh Agrees Settlement After Being Wrongly Accused Of Sexual Assault
X Factor judge Louis Walsh has agreed a €500,000 out-of-court settlement with the Irish edition of The Sun newspaper, after he was falsely accused on sexually assaulting a man in a Dublin nightclub. Leonard Watters was sentenced to six months in prison in July for wrongly accusing Mr Walsh of groping him in April 2011.

Walsh Proves 'Ireland Has Talent'
Irish pop mogul Louis Walsh is on a Dublin-bound star-search today. The Mayo mega-star maker is looking for the country's newest girl band, and has enlisted Westlife crooner Kian Egan to help in the hunt. Open auditions kicked-off this afternoon at The Pod on Dublin's Harcourt Street, and will run until 6pm tomorrow.

Investment In Wind Energy Drops
