Murder Inquiry After Kilkenny Stabbing

A 21-year-old man has died after being stabbed during a knife attack in Kilkenny in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

According to reports, the emergency services were called to an apartment at 1.30am at Larchfield Court.

They discovered two men suffering from stab wounds, both of which were taken to St Luke’s hospital where one of them died a short time later.

The second man, aged 27, remains in hospital where his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

A third man, 35, who was also in the apartment when gardaí arrived was arrested and taken to Kilkenny Garda station where he was detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Man Dies In Kilkenny Road Crash
A man has died following a crash in Kilkenny. last night. The collision occurred on the N25 at Luffany when the car the victim was driving collided with a lorry at around 9pm. A 19-year-old man has died in a road crash in Co Kilkenny. The incident happened around 11pm on Tuesday night, when the man's car collided with a van on the Freshford Road at Troyswood. The man, whose identity has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to St Luke's Hospital.

Man Arrested In Connection With Abduction And Assault Of Kevin Lunney
Gardaí investigating the abduction and assault of Kevin Lunney have made another arrest. The man, aged in his 50s, is currently detained in Cavan Garda Station under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007. Mr Lunney, a director of Quinn Industrial Holdings was abducted and subjected to a prolonged attack in September 2019.

Gardaí have renewed an appeal for information on the disappearance of Tina Satchwell. Tina went missing from her home on Grattan Street in Youghal, Co Cork on 20 March, 2017. Garda said that to date they have investigated over 370 lines of enquiry, taken more than 170 statements and reviewed some 100 hours of CCTV footage.

Garda Appeal For Witnesses To Two Fatal Road Accidents
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to two fatal road accidents on Saturday. A 62-year-old man died when the car he was a passenger in left the road on the M50 at about 12:45am between Junction 10 Ballymount and Junction 11 Tallaght. The 60-year-old female driver is in a critical condition in Tallaght Hospital.
