Witness Appeal Over White Street Assault
An appeal has been launched into an assault that occurred in the White Street area of Cork on Monday.
Gardai in Anglesea Street, Cork said they are investigating the assault that occurred on Monday evening and were appealing to witnesses to come forward.
At approximately 10pm, the altercation took place between two groups, which resulted in a male in his late 30’s being seriously injured.
He was taken to CUH where he is described as being in a critical but stable condition.
Gardai said they wished to appeal for witnesses or to anyone that was in or around the area of White Street around the time of the assault to contact Anglesea Street Garda Station on 021-4522000, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Gardaí have renewed their appeal for witnesses after a man was assaulted on Dame Lane on Saturday 25 June. The victim, aged in his 30s, was found unconscious suffering serious head injuries on Dame Lane at approximately 11.30pm.

Missing Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A 31-year-old Dublin man missing since 08 September has been found "safe and well", gardaí have reported. Stephen Sherlock was reported missing from the Pearse Street area of Dublin on Tuesday, 08 September. Garda were concerned for his welfare. Ten days after the appeal, garda said Mr Sherlock has been found.

A man aged in his 20s has been arrested by Gardai investigating a serious assault on a 41-year-man at Pearse St, on Monday. He was arrested in the south inner city area on Monday evening and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, at Pearse St Garda Station.
