Quinn Loses Bankruptcy Court Case

A judge has ruled that former billionaire Sean Quinn is not entitled to file for bankruptcy in Northern Ireland.

Quinn declared himself bankrupt in November, following a legal challenge by the Anglo Irish bank which claimed he should be declared bankrupt in the Republic of Ireland.

He currently owes the bank, now rebranded the Irish Bank Resolution Corporation (IBRC), a multi-million Euro debt.

In the High Court in Belfast Mr Justice Donal Deeny ruled in favour of the bank.

The case argued that the usual place of residence for Quinn was in the Republic.
