Passengers Not Insuring Gadgets

Ryanair have said that 98% of travellers don't have their expensive gadgets insured.

The airline advised passengers who received ipads, smartphones and other gadgets for Christmas to ensure they are adequately insured as such items now top thieves’ summer ‘wish lists’.

Ryanair's passenger research showed that 75% of passengers bring a gadget worth over €300 with them on holiday, with 97% using these items in public places, making them targets for opportunistic thieves, while 98% confirmed that they had no insurance on such items.

Ryanair’s Stephen McNamara said: “Ryanair passengers are bringing more gadgets on holiday than ever before, and with a 58% spike in insurance claims for such technologies in 2011 it is clear that no matter how careful you may be petty criminals want your gadgets."

Ryanair Found Charging Customers For Nothing
Ryanair has allegedly been passing on extra costs to customers which it is claimed the airline doesn't actually have to pay. An investigation by an Irish newspaper has claimed the budget airline was charging over €15 a head for taxes and fees, which had were no longer applicable.
