Two Arrested Over Moorfield Murder

Two men have been arrested on Monday morning in connection with the murder of a man in Dublin last May.

Gardaí investigating the murder of Dean Johnson on Moorfield Avenue last year said they had arrested two men this morning. 



The 33-year-old and 26-year-old were arrested in the Dublin area and both are detained in Lucan and Ronanstown Garda Stations under Section 50 of The Criminal Justice Act.

They are the first people to be arrested with regards the investigation.

Police said they were also renewing their appeal to the public for assistance. Any witnesses to the shooting or anyone with information to offer are asked to contact Gardaí at Ronanstown on 01 6667700, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Man Arrested Following Drugs Find
Drugs with an estimated street value of €170,000 have been seized by gardai during a raid on a property in west Dublin. Cocaine and cannabis was found during the raid at a house in Balgaddy. A gun and ammunition were also discovered. A 37-year=old has been arrested and is being detained at Ronanstown Garda Station.

Man Arrested Over €400,000 Cannabis Find
Cannabis with an estimated value of €400,000 has been seized in Co Donegal. Members of the Revenue and Gardaí uncovered the drugs during a search at Castlefin on Tuesday. Garda arrested a man in his 30s in connection with the find.

Two Arrested Following Supermarket Raid
Two men have been arrested following a raid at a supermarket in the Clarehall area in Dublin last night. At around 10.30pm, two men armed with a knife entered the premises on the Malahide Road and threatened two members of staff, before tying them up and attacking them. The pair then left the scene with a sum of cash.

Man Arrested And Firearm Seized
A firearm has been seized and a man arrested in Crumlin, Dublin. According to gardaí, they were investigating reports of criminal damage at Rutland Grove when they witnessed a row break out between a number of men. The firearm was seized from one of the men involved in the row and he was subsequently arrested.

Three Held In Dublin Cocaine Seizure
Three men have been arrested following the seizure of cocaine in Dublin. It is understood that 3.5kg of the drug, worth an estimated 250,000 euros, was discovered in Rathmines after being imported in cargo from Peru through Dublin Airport on Thursday. According to reports, the drugs had been sent by courier from Peru.
