Britney 'Saddened' By Concert Goer's Death

Pop Singer Britney Spears has said that she is "saddened" by the death of a woman who fell from a fairground ride after her concert in Dublin’s O2 Arena.

The woman named locally as Siobhan Healey was thrown from a Tip Top ride, which was located outside the arena.

Gardaí said the incident happened at around 11.20pm. It is believed the woman died instantly and her body was removed from the scene.

The 31-year-old had been at the concert earlier in the evening to see Britney Spears perform in her Femme Fatal tour.

In a statement, Spears said: "I was saddened to hear of the tragic accident in Dublin. My heart goes out to the family."

Councillor Michael McGreal, a neighbour and family friend, said Ms Healy was an only child and her mother, Doreen, had lost her husband several years ago.

"The community is very shocked," he said. "I know her family very well, we are all very upset."

It is believed she fell from a ride called the Tip Top, which was run by funfair operator Kenneth McFadden, owner of McFadden's Entertainment.

Mr McFadden said he was devastated for the woman's family. "We can't say (what happened), it all happened so quick,"

Investigators are hoping the incident was captured on CCTV.
