Irish Woman's Body Washed-up In Scotland

Police in Scotland believe they have discovered the body of a missing Northern Ireland woman.

Karen Coyles, 47, was last seen on the night September 11 and the alarm was raised when she did not show up for her job in The University of Ulster.

It is now understood that the PSNI is now liaising with officers in Scotland in a bid to establish the identity of a body discovered on an island off the Mull of Kintyre.

A search and rescue operation was mounted soon after Ms Coyles' disappearance. Sniffer dogs tracked the Ballycastle woman's scent along cliff tops near Mcquillians GAA Club.

The family of Karen Coyles are waiting to hear if the body is hers. A post mortem is due to be carried out later.

The Commander of the Community Rescue Service, Sean McCarry, has been working closely with the missing woman's family who, he said, are being kept up to date.
