Ryan Sheridan 'Rescues' Tennents Vital

Irish upbeat singer songwriter Ryan Sheridan has become the last minute announcement at the Tennents Vital gig after American new comers Foster The People pulled out this week.

Ryan will join The Script, Two Door Cinema Club, Ellie Goulding and The Wombats on the first day of the festival, taking place on August 23.

The news comes after Foster The People announced on Tuesday morning they could no longer appear at the festival.

"We are deeply saddened that we have to cancel our appearance at Tennent’s Vital. We have been looking forward to the festival all year long but have been forced to cancel for reasons beyond our control.

"Please know that we are extremely eager to get back to you guys very soon and are currently working to schedule dates as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to see each of you very soon".

Ryan Sheridan's album The Day You Live Forever has been met with critical acclaim this year, hitting No.2 in the Irish charts.

Recent sell out tours supporting The Script and Bryan Adams have raised the bar and introduced him to a much wider audience.

Ryan was also selected to perform during the State Visit by Barack Obama ealier this year, whilst the singer, who usually appears with percussionist friend Artur Graczyk, made a successful appearance at the Oxegen festival in July.

Meanwhile, the event's organisers have recommended that fans use public transport to travel to the festival by purchasing return Translink Bus & Rail tickets in advance.

Translink are operating a special late night return rail and bus services to Bangor for Tennent's Vital on 23 and 24 August.
