Shot Man's Wounds 'Not Life Threatening'

A 35-year-old man has been shot twice in the leg inside a house in Twinbrook in Co Antrim on the outskirts of Belfast.

A young girl and a woman were in the house in the Summerhill Drive area when the attack happened on Wednesday night.

However, it is not believed that the man's injuries are life threatening.

The North's police have appealed for information about the attack.

Alliance MLA Trevor Lunn has expressed his shock after a man was shot twice in his own house on Summerhill Drive, Belfast by a number of people on Wednesday night. His injuries are not life threatening.

"This was a despicable crime that has shocked the local community. I cannot comprehend what was going through the mind of the perpetrators when they carried out this disgusting crime.

"My thoughts are with this victim. I hope he is able to make a recovery after such a horrific crime," he continued.

"We must ensure that the police are given all the information they require to catch those responsible for this crime, so I would urge anybody who anything about this incident to contact the police."

Traveller Feud

Controversially, a boy was yesterday remanded in custody to prevent him becoming further involved in ongoing violence among Travellers after he faced an attempted murder charge in Lisburn Magistrates' Court.

Today, two more men - aged 20 and 21 - have been charged with attempted murder after a man was shot in Lagmore on the outskirts of west Belfast.

They have also been charged with making threats to kill, possession of a firearm and possession of an offensive weapon.

It follows the shooting of the man in the ankle at his caravan at Hazel View on Monday that later led to the 14-year-old boy's attempted murder charge and remand.

Also on Wednesday, Thomas Dundon, 49, with an address in the Hazelbank area, was also charged with the murder attempt.
