Guinness Arthur's Day Pours Into Irish Cities
Guinness has announced Arthur's Day will return this year, with celebrations now taking place in Belfast as well as Dublin, Cork and Limerick this September.
Music fans in Northern Ireland have been promised international and Irish acts giving intimate performances in bars across Belfast as part of the celebrations, as well as in a larger studio venue in the city.
Organisers said details of the full line up for the studio event in Belfast will be announced closer to the time, however, those attending the pub events will not know which big names they are about to see until they turn up on stage on Arthur’s Day.
Tuesday's launch of Arthur's Day in Dublin featured live performances from Northern Ireland's Cashier No. 9, Aloe Blacc Paloma Faith, Ryan Sheridan and Bressie.
Speaking at the launch, Aloe Blacc said: "I am delighted to be in Dublin for the launch of Arthur’s Day. I love the idea of performing in the intimate surrounds of a pub - it's fantastic. Sharing a music experience like this with our fans will be incredible."
Tanya Clarke, Marketing Director, Diageo Island of Ireland said: "We are thrilled to announce that Arthur's Day is back, and this year even more countries will host live music events to mark the occasion with performances taking place all across the world, kick-starting right here in Dublin, the home of Guinness."
Now in its third year, the Arthur's Day promotion has proven a massive hit, leading to its extension into Irish music hubs to pubs and venues in Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Belfast.

Guinness Celebrated
In what is being billed as a global celebration, Dublin will this evening see the start of an Arthur's Day party. Designed to mark 250 years of stout production, the event will kick-off in the capital at exactly 17.59hrs with a toast to founder, Arthur Guinness.

Hospital Redevelopment Plan Submitted
A planning application has been submitted for a €16m redevelopment of Our Lady's Hospice in Harold's Cross, Dublin. The application lays out a plan for 36 single-occupancy rooms that would redevelop the hospital's residential hospice and re-equip day care and community support.

Five Cities To See Parking Levy By 2009
The new €200 workplace parking levy will be introduced in five cities from next January, according to an announcement today. The Minister for Finance Brian Lenihan announced the levy on Budget day last month, but it has been revealed that from January next year, Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway and Waterford will be operating the levy.
