Fatal Accident Claims Donegal Man In Australia

A Donegal man has been fatally wounded in a construction accident in Western Australia.

On Saturday, Sean McBride, 28, from Burtonport was working on scaffolding, based on a jetty in the town of Dampier when it collapsed into the sea.

The jetty was owned by the mining giant Rio Tinto Iron Ore.

Emergency services were called to the scene.

Police divers later recovered Mr McBride's body from the area.

The Irish Department of Foreign Affairs have been assisting Mr McBride's family.

A missing 52-year-old man from Cork has been found 'safe and well', garda have reported. John Ryan was last seen in the Shanakiel area of Cork City on Wednesday, 24 May. However, Mr Ryan has now been located and no further action is required.

Missing Co Mayo man, David Duffy, has been found safe and well, garda have reported. Garda had issued an appeal for help in tracing 36-year-old Mr Duffy, who had not been seen since Sunday. Garda have thanked the public for their help and said that no further action is needed.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Man Charged With Wexford Man's Murder In Australia
An Irishman living in Australia has been charged with the murder of an Irish construction worker in Perth. Vincent Martin Crowe appeared in court over the death of Wexford man Kenny Meyler, who died after being stabbed in the neck in February. The incident happened in the Perth suburb of Scarborough.

Garda Appeal For Witnesses To Fatal Road Accident
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision in Dundalk on Thursday, 10 December. A 69-year-old man died in hospital following the collision on the Inner Relief Road in Dundalk at about 17:00, garda have reported. It is understood the man was driving a car that was involved in a collision with a bus.
