Three Further Arrests Over Inchicore Murder

Gardai have made three further arrests in relation to the murder David Byrne on the 19th March 2011.

Three males all aged in their late teens were arrested this morning and are currently detained at Garda Stations in the south inner city. Two of the men are detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939, and one under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Last week, two 14-year-old boys, a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old, were arrested by Gardaí.

A female has been released from custody without charge.

David Byrne was found in the car park of Emmet Court apartment block on Saturday 19th March.

He was stabbed at least four times and was pronounced dead in St James's Hospital.

Gardaí have appealed to those with information to contact Kilmainham Garda Station.

This brings to 14 the number arrested in relation to this investigation.

Arrests In Donegal Drug Find
Three men have been arrested after a drug seizure at Carraigans, County Donegal yesterday evening. According to a Gardaí spokesman this morning, at approximately 5.00pm yesterday, Garda from Letterkenny carried out a search of a house in the Carraigans area.

Arrests Follow Bungled Robbery In Meath
Three men have been arrested after a failed robbery attempt in Co Meath. Gardaí have arrested the trio who were attempting a robbery at the Marriott Hotel in Enfield in the early hours of this morning. According to a police spokesman, the three males, all in their 30s, entered the premises at 5am armed with a screwdriver and threatened staff.

Two Gardaí Officers Secure International Honour
Two Gardaí officers have been honoured by Spanish police for their work helping tackle organised crime in Spain. Detective Superintendent Seamus Boland of the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) within Special Crime Operations and a Garda Liaison Officer visited Mallorca to receive the honour by the Guardia Civil.

Two On The Run Over Geoghegan Investigation
Two men have gone on the run from Gardaí following yesterday's 14 arrests by officers over the Shane Geoghegan murder. The two men are believed to have fled to London as Gardaí made a large number of synchronized arrests yesterday. One of the men is thought to be a prime suspect in the case of the murdered amateur rugby player.
