Man Arrested After Discovery Of Body In Mayo
A man has been arrested in connection with the discovery of a woman's body at a house in Castlebar, Co Mayo.
The man was arrested at 8am at Corha, Islandeady.
Gardaí were called to a house, which is about 7km from Castlebar, at Derrycrieve, Islandeady, in the early hours of the morning.
Another occupant of the house had alerted them to the death of the 46-year-old woman.
The house and the area around it were immediately sealed off and examined by technical experts.
The State Pathologist's office has been notified of the death and a post mortem examination will be carried out later.

A man arrested in connection with a fatal house fire in Dublin has been released without charge. A 44-year-old man died in the blaze which happened at a property on Oakland's Terrace, Rathgar, at around 3am on Tuesday, 21 August. It is understood the man had escaped from the fire before returning inside and suffered critical injuries.

Two men and a woman have died in three separate house fires in Limerick and Kerry. In the latest incident, a man in his 60s died following a house fire in Tralee in Co Kerry. The fire broke out in the terraced house in Connolly Park at about 9.30pm yesterday. Gardaí were called to the scene at around 9.

Body Found In Mayo
An arrest has been made after the body of a woman was found in Mayo. Gardai at Castlebar, Co Mayo are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body of a 61-year-old woman in a house at Blackfort, Newport Road Castlebar at approximately 4am in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
