Cork Murder Probe Leads To Arrest

Detectives investigating the murder of taxi driver, Michael Healy, whose body was discovered in a flat on Rockspring Terrace, St Lukes, Cork City Wednesday, last night arrested a man.

The 38-year-old is being detained in Mayfield Gardaí Station under Section 4 Criminal Justice Act 1984.

The man was arrested in Passage West in Co Cork.

Mr Healy, a 62-year-old father of two sons, lived at a flat at Rockspring Terrace, St Luke's in Cork city for the past ten years.

His body was found at his home by his brother yesterday morning after he became concerned when Mr Healy had not been seen for a number of days.

A post mortem examination last night established that Mr Healy had died of head injuries.

Gardaí today conducted a technical examination at Mr Healy's flat.

Gardaí Arrest Four Over Cork Armed Robbery
Four people have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery that took place in County Cork in August. Gardai from Cobh and Middleton said they had made the four arrests on Wednesday morning as part of their investigation into the armed robbery at a Bank in Glanmire Co. Cork on the August 5.
