Cork Murder Probe Leads To Arrest
Detectives investigating the murder of taxi driver, Michael Healy, whose body was discovered in a flat on Rockspring Terrace, St Lukes, Cork City Wednesday, last night arrested a man.
The 38-year-old is being detained in Mayfield Gardaí Station under Section 4 Criminal Justice Act 1984.
The man was arrested in Passage West in Co Cork.
Mr Healy, a 62-year-old father of two sons, lived at a flat at Rockspring Terrace, St Luke's in Cork city for the past ten years.
His body was found at his home by his brother yesterday morning after he became concerned when Mr Healy had not been seen for a number of days.
A post mortem examination last night established that Mr Healy had died of head injuries.
Gardaí today conducted a technical examination at Mr Healy's flat.

Trial Hears Man Felt Suicidal Ahead Of Attack On Neighbour
A man standing trial for murder told gardaí he paced around his flat feeling suicidal before going to the victim’s bedsit and stabbing him, the court has heard. 39-year-old Lloyd Buckley told gardaí that he was contemplating taking his own life after taking some heroin and he called to the nearby bedsit of Michael Healy (62).

Beef farmers have this morning, Tuesday 10 December, blockaded the Musgraves Central Distribution Centre (CDC) in Kilcock, Co Kildare as their fight for fair beef prices continue. The Irish Farmers' Association (IFA) has urged farmers not to accept the current beef price on offer from factories and to demand a lot more.
