Job Hunters Look To New Look

Some 120 jobs are to be created by the retailer New Look after it announced a new shop in the Jervis Centre in Dublin.

The 30,000 sq ft store will be the company's largest in its entire chain and it will occupy ground and basement levels in part of the former Arnotts Project store when it opens this November.

New Look has over 1,000 stores worldwide, with 28 shops in the Republic of Ireland. In July 2010, New Look opened its Scottish flagship store in Glasgow Fort Shopping Park. That store is 18,000 sq ft, built on the site of a former Borders store.

The company opened its first store in the Republic in 2003 and currently employs more than 800 people here.

Earlier this year, the Jervis Centre also announced US fashion giant Forever 21 would open its first European store in the centre in November.

A spokesperson for the Jervis Centre said: "This deal is the final piece of the incredible anchor store line up assembled in the centre. With New Look's arrival and the recent announcement of US fashion retailer Forever 21, the centre now boasts an unrivalled line up of high quality national and international retails.

"This will boost footfall further in the Jervis and Henry Street areas and confirms the resilience of Dublin's city centre retail market."
