Man Arrested Over February Murder

A man has been arrested today in connection with the murder of a man in Dublin in February of this year.

The man, who was in his early 30’s, was shot on the evening of February 20 in a cul-de-sac off Drumalee Avenue off the North Circular Road in Dublin. He was discovered in the passenger seat of a car and had sustained a number of gunshot wounds to the chest.

Today, Gardaí have revealed they have arrested a male in his late 20's in connection with the shooting. The man is currently being detained at the Bridewell Garda Station under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.

Gardai are still appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have knowledge regarding the incident to come forward.

In a Gardaí description of the events, the victim was sitting in the passenger seat of a car when he was shot a number of times. A male was seen running from the scene of the shooting into Drumalee Park and from there may have made his escape either onto Aughrim Street or through Drumalee Court to Prussia Street.

The male is described as being between 5’9” and 5’11” in height and of thin build. He was wearing a grey hoodie and either grey tracksuit bottoms or jeans.

Missing Co Mayo man, David Duffy, has been found safe and well, garda have reported. Garda had issued an appeal for help in tracing 36-year-old Mr Duffy, who had not been seen since Sunday. Garda have thanked the public for their help and said that no further action is needed.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Man Critical After Being Pulled From Canal In Dublin
A man is in a critical condition in hospital after being pulled out of a canal in Dublin. The 23-year-old male fell into the canal at Portobello Harbour after Sunday's All-Ireland hurling final. He was pulled out of the water and taken to St James' Hospital where his condition has been described as critical.
