Arson Likely In Belfast Club Blaze

Arson is suspected to be the cause of an early morning fire at a building in west Belfast.

Five fire appliances attended the premises in Summerhill Road, Twinbrook after the alert to the blaze at 3.45am on Friday.

Although it is at a very early stage in the PSNI probe, it is already thought that the Twinbrook Social Club may have been set alight after a failed robbery.

BBC NI reported this morning that a committee member at the club had told him that firefighters who had been inside reported that there had been an attempt to prise a cigarette machine off a wall using a crowbar.
