Two Held Over Co Louth Death

Two men have been arrested in connection with the death of Errol Dunne in the seaside town of Clogherhead in March.

Gardaí said this morning they had arrested two men in connection with the man's death following a serious assault in the County Louth town.

The men, aged 35 and 27, were arrested in Castleblaney, Co Monaghan early this morning.

They are being detained at Drogheda Garda station under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Mr Dunne (25), a father-of-one, died after suffering a severe head injury during a row involving up to 20 people near the Harbour Bar in Clogherhead.

According to Gardaí, it is believed a number of men may have assaulted Mr Dunne and he was left lying on the roadway. A passer-by raised the alarm and phoned an ambulance.

Man Arrested In Neil Fitzgerald Murder Investigation
A man in his 20s has been arrested by Gardaí investigating the murder of Neil Fitzgerald. Mr Fitzgerald (36) was found dead at Hills Lane in Tallaght, Dublin, on Sunday, 05 June. Gardaí made the arrest on Wednesday. It is the third arrest made as part of their ongoing investigation. The other two men remain in custody.

Four Arrested In Money Laundering Investigation
Gardaí in Cork have arrested four people in an investigation into money laundering. Two men, aged 19 and 29, and two women, aged 28 and 50, were arrested during a search of houses in the Fairhill and Knocknaheeny areas. Gardaí say they are being interviewed as part of an ongoing investigation into money laundering in Cork.

Men Held After Shotgun Attack
Three men are being questioned following a shooting incident in Dublin. Two men were injured when a shotgun was fired at them and soon afterwards, three men were arrested following a Garda chase. The victims' injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
