Woman Injured After Shot Fired In Offally

A woman has been injured after a shooting incident in Co Offally last night.

Gardai at Tullamore are investigating the shooting incident which took place at the front window of a house in Kilbrook, Tullamore, at approximately 11.30pm.

The woman who is in her 20’s was in a front downstairs room where she received minor injuries as a result of what is believed to be debre from the window. She was treated at the scene by ambulance staff and did not require hospital treatment. There were three others present in the house at the time. They were uninjured.

Gardai arrested a male in his 20’s shortly after 2am in the Tullamore area and he is currently detained under the provisions of section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act. A second person, a female in her 20’s, has been arrested shortly before 8am on this morning.

At approximately 7pm on Sunday night a man in his 30s and a woman in her 20s were injured following a shooting incident outside a house in Cluain Darach, Tullamore by a lone gunman.

Four Men To Appear In Court In Connection With Murder Of Peter Butterly
Four men are to appear in court charged in connection with the murder of Peter Butterly. Mr Butterly was fatally shot outside a bar in Meath on 06 March 2013. The suspects were detained in counties Meath, Cavan and Dublin. Two other men are serving life sentences for the murder of Mr Butterly.

Garda Recovers Body Of Missing 74-Year-Old Woman
Gardaí searching for missing Kathleen Reilly have recovered her body. The body of the 74-year-old Athlone woman was found on Tuesday evening. Her body has been taken to the morgue at Tullamore Hospital where a post-mortem is due to be carried out later today, 22 June. Gardaí thanked the public for their help during the search.

Gardai Call For Witnesses Following Dublin Shooting
Gardai are calling for witnesses following the murder of a Dublin man in Co Kildare on Saturday. Jamie Lindsey, 20, was fatally shot near his home in Coneybro estate in Athy. It is believed the victim was the target of a local drugs gang. Gardai are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
